RTH and I are currently involved in an epic 3d construction project.
It's been challenging as well as fun.
One challenge has been getting some parts, as the design calls for metric parts.
Despite Canada allegedly being a metric country.. our neighbors to the South are abig influence and most construction is imperial.
So we had the bright idea of visiting a Japanese hardware store to pick up what we need.
It worked but now we find ourselves with 3 kilos of nuts bolts and other metric fixings in our suitcase.
God knows what security will make of it!!!!
This bar is on several floors.
One for Sake
One for Schochu and one for fruit liquors
One entry price gets you unlimited drinks.
It was amazing!
He is awesome. He runs an air b n b experience opening your mind to the world of Sake and Schochu.
For avery reasonable price he meets you at an awesome bar and gives you a brief history of each. And then a tasting experience, which pretty much degenerated into a drink fest.
Put it this way . It was meant to finish at 7:30.
We didn't leave before 10!!!!
Is a serious business. Once you've decided on the basic shape, type of handle and steel type, they bring you three near identical ones for you to test the weight and balance.
Japanese knives are gorgeous though
Apart from the occasional bad lyric translation, the most disturbing part is the random videos.
They depict various mundane scenes....and I want to know who picks them?
I mean who gets to decide...The logical song by Supertramp....that needs a guy feeding squirrels in the park.... obviously!!
This little shop does custom notebooks.
You choose your cover, inserts, paper type and other stuff and they make it for you.
All for around the cost of a standard moleskin notebook
I'm going back for another
The fried tofu was a random gift from the next table, who were mildly confused that we didn't want soy sauce with the silken tofu provided as part of the cover charge.
They sent this over and watched me eat it appropriately in their opinion
One of the good points about renting an apartment as opposed to a hotel room is the availability of laundry facilities. Meaning weonly packed a week's worth of clothes
The down side is that said facilities look like this.
And as RTH has just pointed out, we've just put pretty much all the underwear we own in it.
Here's hoping it makes it through intact !!!!
As in a shop that sells plastic food.
Many restaurants have these food models outside so dumb foreigners have an idea of what they are ordering
This place was our local.last time we came.
Nothing much has changed. A great place for yakitori and a schochu sour
For some reason has penguins.
I love this shot because you can't see the water and it looks like the penguin is flying overhead Tokyo
